This cupboard features a wonderfully unique design which combines the beauty of Celtic Knotwork with the mystic pentacle. Handcarved from stained Mangowood and enhanced by aged metal trim on the front, top and sides, this small chest makes the perfect oil cabinet.

Approximate measurements are 10 3/4" tall at the peak, 4 1/4" deep, 8" wide. Shelves 3" deep, 5 5/8" wide

This piece is handmade in India. Rustic appearance (dents, rust, scratches and blemishes) are not defects.

Celtic knots are perhaps the most recognized artwork in Celtic history.

It is believed that they started appearing in history about 450 AD. Knowledge of their meanings is sketchy at best due to the lack of written history.

Because of their appearance throughout history along with various interpretations we can make educated guesses as to their meaning.

The Celtic knot symbol is often referred to as the mystic knot, or the endless knot. It alludes to a spiritual meaning of “no beginning and no end”. When you see these beautiful works of art you cannot find a beginning or an end. This reminds of the timeless nature of the human spirit.

Due to its continuous path, the Celtic Knot is seen to represent an uninterrupted life cycle. The designs have been used as charms to ward off sickness or other disruptions in a stable calm existence.
